Where Can Our Drones Fly?
List of Services
-
Not in National Parks, Monuments, Forests or Wilderness AreasList Item 1
Regulations restrict use of drones in most of these areas. We do not have a special use permit with the US Forest Service which would allow us to operate on the National Forests. Fortunately, there are plenty of areas where it is legal to fly within 400 feet of the ground.
-
No Low Level Flights Over Somebody Else's PropertyList Item 2
Although it is perfectly legal to fly over private property if you are not violating other privacy laws, we realize that drones can cause a disturbance if not flown properly. This may include informing neighbors of the nearby flights.
-
Not Close Enough to People to be Confused with a GoProList Item 3
Our action and special event videos will capture the excitement of the moment but will not put anybody at obvious risk. We can fly at safe distances and use our optical and digital zoom capabilities to bring the action up close.
-
Not From a Hot Air BalloonList Item 4
The Federal Aviation Administration does not allow flights of drones from hot air ballons due to safety concerns. Most hot air balloon pilots usually look at drone pilots like they have the plague anyway, over concern for their critical balloon envelope.
-
Not Near a Forest Fire or other TFRs
Some areas are designated as restricted airspace or have Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) for one reason or another (near airport, fire, etc). With advenced planning, sometimes permission can be granted to operate in these areas, or flights may have to be postponed.
-
Fortunately that leaves 90% of our area!
With advanced planning, we can usually make arrangements to legally, safely, and ethically fly your mission. Mother Nature always has the last say, with rain and wind sometimes postponing flights.
